Marriages take lots of work and part of that work means taking the time to intentionally date your spouse. Now, I know dating your spouse is super important. But if I’m being honest, my husband and I haven’t always done the best job at making time for dates since becoming parents. In between work, parenting, tiredness, and now quarantine it feels almost impossible to make time for an official date every week. We’ve come up with a few date ideas so that we can be intentional about dating even when we’re stuck at home. Word of advice (I’m preaching to myself too)—ALWAYS make time to date your spouse!

If you’re tired of doing the same old “sitting on the couch date nights”, here are some safe quarantine date ideas that my husband and I love :
Game Night
This could be a hard one for some of us since technology has us glued to our phones all day. Put your phone away for a couple of hours & play your favorite board game. There’s nothing like sitting on the floor playing games with the ones you love!
Spa Night
Light some candles, put some relaxing music on and make it a spa night. You can go as extra or simple as you would like for this one. Give each other a massage with some scented oils, give each other mani/pedis, or do facials. The key here is to unwind together!
Charcuterie Board Night
Charcuterie boards have been all the rave lately. You’ve probably seen the hundreds of videos online of the fabulous boards people are making. Some people say they’re just bougie Lunchables and I totally agree… but I still LOVE them. I probably make at least one charcuterie board for my husband and I at least once a month & it never gets old. Make one yourself or order one from your local grocery store, it really doesn’t matter!
Travel Inspired Dinner and A Movie
Have you been itching to travel? There are days where I get so annoyed with the fact that travel is nowhere in sight with the pandemic. This is a great way to immerse yourself in some aspects of travel until the world opens back up. I know it’s not the same, but it’ll do for now. Pick a country or city you’ve been wanting to visit, make a dish from that place together & watch a movie that relates to the place you picked. We recently learned how to make our own Lo Mein, Orange Chicken, and Egg Rolls, it was a hit!
Takeout Car Date
This is a perfect last-minute date idea. Pick your favorite take-out spot, park in their lot, and watch a show or movie together while you eat. This is another one of our faves. A great way to get out of the house while still staying safe.
Rock Paper Scissors Car Date
This is similar to the previous idea, but make a whole day of it! Play a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors for each category (appetizers, lunch/dinner, and dessert), whoever wins the category picks where you’ll grab takeout from. Drive to the first location, play another round, and go down the list. Have fun with this one!
Indoor or Outdoor Glamping
If you live in a location where winters are a thing, you probably can’t do outdoor glamping right now. No problem! Grab a big tent, a small mattress or sleeping bags and set it up in your backyard or living room for a cozy glamping experience. All the joys of camping in the comfort of your home!
Living Room Picnic
Pack a picnic basket , lay a blanket in the middle of your living room & have a picnic.
Craft At Home/DIY projects
If you haven’t already noticed, I am obsessed with DIY projects. Over the years, I’ve gotten my husband hooked on DIY projects as well. We are always thinking about what we can renovate next & we have so much fun doing it together. Whether it’s an art craft or a home project, try something creative together!
Make Your Own Pizza Night
Who doesn’t love pizza?! Buy some pre-made pizza dough or make your own from scratch, get your favorite toppings and make it a date night!
Play Video Games
I recently had the idea to make this into a date night and my husband was soooo happy! In the 3 years that we have been married, I never thought to make this into a date night, but I’m so glad we did. Ladies, our partners usually say yes to all the cheesy date nights we put together. Whether it’s a video game or something else, do something he likes & make a date out of it.
Create a Bucket List/ Dream Together
A couple that dreams together, stays together. Is that a thing? ‘Cause it should be! Take some time to talk about what your dreams are together as a couple and individually. Talking about these things in our marriage has strengthened us so much over the years. It gives us drive to work on different things together, try new things & keep each other accountable.
Bake Your Favorite Treats Together
Think Great British Baking Show minus all the professional bakers in your kitchen. Try baking something new together or bake your favorite treats. You can even make it into a little competition. Make it sweet!
Learn a Dance Routine Together
I have yet to convince my husband to do this one with me which doesn’t make sense ’cause we were both serious dancers back in the day. He did dancing competitions in high school & I danced ballet for 13 years (hopefully we do this one soon ’cause I wanna be a TikTok dancing couple so bad lol). The important thing with this one is that you have FUN. It does not matter if you have two left feet. Try it, laugh, have fun. Learn a Tik Tok dance, an official dance routine, or take salsa dancing tutorials online. Again, don’t forget to have fun!

I don’t know about you, but every time my husband and I make time for date nights we end up feeling so refreshed. Having fun with your spouse is such great medicine for your soul. Make time to invest in your marriage and date your spouse!
